CORBETT THE LAND OF ELEPHANTS AND TIGER

Cobett know to be the mystical lands in India depicting the the nature in an unpredictable way and famous for "Mighty Jumbos" which helps in photographing their wonderful behavior and need not forget about the tigers where different ones dominate different parts of the land.

We "The Naturographers" joined along with NATURE WANDERERS who were very experienced in photography. It was actually a 4N & 3D tour which was conducted on Jan-26 2018.

This was actually the most expected tour of the year and it happened to be a better one. There are nearly 20 zones out of which DHIKALA & BIJRANI are the famous ones for tiger sighting.

Here the image shown is the forest map and total area of Corbett Tiger Reserve. The total area of reserve is 1288 sq.km. The first safari inside Dhikala was amazing one as the tiger name Chuapani just crossed the road with its two cubs a total of three but couldnt capture the image as it went deep inside. Then we started to search the tigers on the first day itself and along with that we were able to spot some raptors.

1) Changeable Hawk Eagle
    Specs: f/8
    Shutter: 1/500s
    ISO:200

2) Lesser Fish Eagle
    Specs: f/8
    Shutter:1/500s
    ISO-250

These two gave us the best sighting ever and we managed to take good photos of the raptors.
The next safari did not provide us anything as the nature acted so cruel and it was highly mist and fog. Out of 8 safaris 5 safaris were almost misty and foggy. But after patience we got wonderful phtos of the Mighty Jumbos.

3) Elephant Herd
    Specs: f/9
    Shutter:1/500s
    ISO:200

4) The Joyful Elephants:
   Specs: f/9
   Shutter:1/500s
   ISO:200

5) Elephant Herd
    Specs: f/9
    Shutter:1/500s
    ISO:200

6) Lonely Elephant in scape
    Specs: f/9
    Shutter:1/500s
    ISO:200

I can describe the above photo in a technical manner as the photo has been taken in grid form. We can see both the rule of thirds and the area separated into three parts.

7) The Joyful Buddies
    Specs: f/5.6
    Shutter: 1/1000s
    ISO-125

The elephants gave us a wonderful sighting ever we had and almost proved that they are the Mighty Jumbos of Corbett. All were very indeed celebrating their sighting.

We were also gifted with the smallest ever known raptor called "COLLARD FALCONET". It gave us the best sighting and rarest lifer for us.

5) Collard Falconet
    specs:f/5.6
    shutter:1/1000s
    ISO: 2000

Then we got many wonderful sightings of Crested Kingfisher which seemed to capturing the show in place of tigers.

8) Crested Kingfisher
    Specs: f/5.6
    Shutter: 1/1250s
    ISO:640

We were totally disappointed without any tiger sighting and at all the last safari we got to see "THE LEGENDARY PARWALI" of Dhikala Corbett.

She occupied the 5 mins show with our 100 fans of her standing with cameras to take her wonderful pose.
9) The Legendary Parwali
Specs:f/9
Shutter:1/500s

We concluded our trip after the tiger sighting and thought of reaching home early with wonderful experience but we were even rewarded with Otters the joyful water swimmers.

10) OTTERS
      Specs:f/7.1
      Shutter: 1/500s
      ISO-160

Thus concluded our trip with:

BIRDS:
1) Lesser Fish Eagle

3) Changeable Hawk Eagle
4) Himalayan Bulbul
5) Collard Falconet
6) Pied Buschat
7) Crested Kingfisher
